Your GM Cannon II is bulkier armed than its predecessors. It provides you with two shoulder-mounted beam cannons, contrary to the RX-77-2 Guncannon, and can carry a 90mm machine gun or a beam saber for close overcome. It also includes two 60mm vulcan guns mounted inside head, but these are normally strictly last-resort weapons. To power this strong tools the GM Cannon II carries a stronger reactor. It is in addition very heavily armored, featuring Chobham armor based in the same design as the RX-78NT-1 Gundam "Alex". On the other hand, it pays the price just for this durability with very low rate and mobility. A GM Cannon II without treatment has been shown to not be capable of fend for itself due to opponents having the capacity to outmaneuver it, unless its opposition also lacks speed.
The RGC-83 GM Cannon II is often a heavy-duty support type mobile suit meant to provide covering fire for their teammates. While it is the other version of the UC 0079 RGC-80 GM Canon, it more closely resembles your Guncannon mobile suit made famous by fighting alongside the main RX-78-2 Gundam.
Although it isn't known what number of GM Cannon II models were produced it can be known that two units were stationed for the Albion and used during Function Stardust in UC 0083. The GM Cannon II was later deployed with the AEUG during the Gryps Clash. Their units were painted forest green on gray through an orange visor.
